We had a very enjoyable evening at Wolverhampton Racecourse last night with Pensax Boy winning a competitive handicap for owners Steve & Anita Mares. Steve Drowne took the ride, timing it to perfection to ensure he hit the front in the closing stages. Back to a more suitable trip having not stayed 1m2f last time, he clearly loves this surface and is now 3-3 on the AW. Well done to all the team!
Last week was Racing Staff week and this year we gave one of our dedicated team members, Rhianon Horne, the opportunity to ride in the Befair Clock Tower Cup at Doncaster Racecourse. Rhianon rode Check Em Tuesday and gave her a great ride to finish 5th. She put in loads of hard work in the lead up to the race and thoroughly enjoyed the whole raceday experience as a jockey. We want to thank all our loyal owners & friends … Read More
Pensax Boy was having his first outing for our yard yesterday and coming back from a 299 day break to have his first run of the season. He suffered a small injury last year but has been pleasing in his work at home on the gallops, so we weren’t surprised to see him run a big race! Andrew Mullen gave him a patient ride, weaving through the field to get up on the line. It was a great day for … Read More
Roman de Brut has done all of his racing on the all-Weather tracks since joining our yard and has been very consistent winning two race over the winter & being placed 10 times. Yesterday was his first run back on turf since his two-year old days & he relished conditions & handled the track at Chepstow really well. Charlie Bennett had won on him last time out & gave him an excellent ride, coming up the stands rail from a … Read More
On Bank Holiday Monday we took Viva Verglas to Windsor for the apprentice race. He has had a profitable all-weather campaign and we were hopeful he could transfer that form onto the turf. Toby Eley, our stable apprentice, took the ride and was making ground all the way to the line – another stride and he would have got there! Luckily yesterday at Wolverhampton we managed to get to the line in time with Pour L’Amour, with the judge calling … Read More
We sent out two runners on Saturday and they both came home winners! Angelical travelled to Leicester for her first run back after her winter break, and was returning to turf after a couple of disappointing efforts on the all-weather. She obviously relished being back on grass and young David Egan gave her a strong ride all the way to the post. It is our first winner for the Live In Hope Partnership and was a truly deserved win for … Read More
